The 2019 Ford Ranger is back after seven years away from the market. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long since the last Ford midsize pickup rolled off the line, and fans across the US have been more than vocal in calling for a new model. We’re thrilled to announce that the new Ford Ranger was just unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and it offers:

  • 2.3L Twin-Scroll Turbocharged Four-Cylinder EcoBoost Engine
  • Terrain Management System
  • Trail Control
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Pre-Collision Assistance with Emergency Braking

New Ford Ranger Design

The 2019 Ford Ranger clearly has some design cues meant solely for American drivers. Looking over the body, you’ll notice:

  • Solid Steel Bumper
  • Frame-Mounted Hooks
  • High Beltline
  • Short Overhangs

Cargo box rails have been added as the new Ford Ranger comes to American shores, and Conroe, TX drivers will be able to customize their model with eight colors and an optional Sport Appearance package.

Though specs have yet to be announced, we do know the new Ford Ranger will offer:

  • Second-Generation 2.3L Twin-Scroll Turbocharged Four-Cylinder EcoBoost Engine
  • Ford’s New 10-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Stop-Start Technology

The same 2.3L four-cylinder currently commands up to 280 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque in the Ford Explorer, so expect athletic acceleration on Interstate 45 near The Woodlands, TX.

Most currently-known features of the new Ford Ranger revolve around capability. You’ll find a Terrain Management System with modes for Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, and Sand, plus all-new Trail Control.

The available FX4 Off-Road Package will upgrade the Ford Ranger with:

  • Steel Front Bash Plate
  • Off-Road Tuned Shocks and Suspension
  • Reinforced Skidplates
  • Hill Descent Control

In addition, you can add a two-speed transfer case and an electronic-locking rear differential as well. Interior technology will include SYNC 3 infotainment and an 8-inch touchscreen, as well as high tech active safety equipment:

  • Blind-Spot Detection with Trailer Coverage
  • Pre-Collision Assistance with Emergency Braking
  • Lane Keep Warning and Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
