2018 Ford Explorer vs. 2018 Chevrolet Traverse
For Texas families who require power and capability, it makes sense to consider a Ford or Chevy SUV to get them where they need to go. But while vehicles like the Chevrolet Traverse do offer advanced technology and impressive ride quality, they can’t compete with the new 2018 Ford Explorer.
The Ford Explorer Prevails Over the Chevrolet Traverse
Whether it’s getting around Spring, TX or having the power to get your gear to The Woodlands in style, the new Explorer easily outperforms the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse with features that include:
- Performance Engines: The Ford Explorer offers a 3.5L turbocharged V6 engine capable of 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Chevrolet’s 3.6L V6 engine creates just 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.
- Easy Cargo Access: The Ford Explorer has a standard third-row seat that folds flats into the floor, making it easy to load large items quickly. The Chevrolet Traverse seats don’t fold into the floor.
- Convenient Seating: To make loading of passengers and cargo simple the Explorer offers optional automatic second and third-row folding seats. The Traverse doesn’t offer automatic second-row seats.
- Automated Parking: To help with backing up and parking, the Explorer has optional Enhanced Active Park Assist that requires minimal driver input to line the vehicle up and steer it into place. The Chevy Traverse doesn’t offer automated parking.
